Born Again
The 21st of June is in many ways a pretty significant date.
Its the Winter solstice - in layman's terms its the shortest day and the longest night of the year for the southern hemisphere and the opposite for the northern hemisphere. Is that going to mean that I am going to sleep less than what I usually do!!!
Its the date on which the Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix was released.
Its the FĂȘte de la Musique (World music day) in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Its the World Humanist Day.
And its my birthday.
Please restrain yourself from picking up the mobile phone and wishing me. Its only for the government. So if the Rashtrapati of India (or the Rastra'patni' - yeah the term is catching up quickly) wants to find out when I was born and digs up the records he might find that it was on June 21st, 1983.
Though I was born in Madras on a totally different date, in a hospital quite close to the sea, and that being the same hospital where a friend of mine and a reader of the blog was also born, the official records state that I was born in some village in Karnataka!!! But today is the day I received birthday wishes from Hutch, from some groups I had registered to, from some websites, and of course today I will receive a chocolate hamper from my manager at work!!!
And there are some people who take undue advantage of this by asking for a treat, and thus getting a treat both today and on my actual birthday!!!
