And then there is work....
These days I work for exactly eight hours. When I had mentioned this to a friend of mine recently, I was asked
"But you do complete your work in eight hours right?"
And that has proved to be the biggest challenge this week so far. For the first time after I started my "eight hours only" work schedule I have landed in a situation where I am having to utilise my eight hours with extreme caution and planning to bring the best out of it.
Every minute of these eight hours is being accounted for. I am not able to refresh the stupid orkut page fifty times a day as I used to (though I hate Orkut, I refresh it for one reason only), I am having to write blogs from home that too at unearthly hours like 7 AM. I am not getting the time to do some timepass browsing on the net. Lunch has been cut to ten minutes. And most importantly I have not been able to chat with a friend of mine.
But then for the first time I am realising the importance of efficient planning. I do have the flexibility of increasing the work time by another two hours, but I have decided not to give up so quickly and stick with the eight hour schedule.
If time is ruthless I am going to be unrelenting!
