God only knows

"Do u believe in god?"

"Science tells me God must exist. My mind tells me I will never understand God. And my heart tells me I am not meant to."

People who have read Dan Brown's books will immediately recollect that these were the words used in his novel Angels and Demons.

So I thought I will try to identify the school of thoughts that prevail on this earth on the issue of God. I am only considering the people who have a attained a level of maturity which allows them to formulate their own views on stuff and provide logical reasoning for it (in simple words i mean i am leaving out the kids and the very old people). That leaves me with only the middle aged ones.

1. There is this category of people who believe that God exists. These are the ones who strongly believe in science but also claim that God is the creator of science. We could also sub categorise this section of people as the ones that follow idol worship, the ones who only believe in the existence of a supernatural force but do not give any it any form and so on.....But I am only interested in the emotion called faith. These people blame God for mishaps and thank him for success.

2. Then comes the group called the agnostics (yeah yeah looked it up in the dictionary). The dictionary claims these are the ones who are skeptical about the existence of God. I would rather say that these are the ones moving away from the responsibility of taking decisions. They are non - committal. Ok they do not want to argue on either side. But internally they are confused and scared. They are not sure if they should turn atheist or not. Their views are governed by the society.

3. And as mentioned the other group is the atheists. They deny the existence of God. But I am a bit confused about this school of thought. Lets say they dont believe in the existence of a supernatural power. Then will they be in a position to provide explanantions for miracles. Ok maybe I shouldnt use the word miracles....lets change it to" events with no scientific reasoning yet". Maybe they are not the looking for explanations for them. Which again gets us back to the point called faith. They refuse to believe in the existence of God.

I believe that man only uses God as a solution to his problems. U could argue that there were so many events in the past that have gone unexplained which is the favor of the existence of God. But I say that as science has progressed and we have answers to more questions the existence of God is becoming more questionable.

For example, if any phenomenon occured a thousand years ago man to which man had no explanation then he would give the solution to it as the existence of God. Most of the scientific phenomena in those days would have been classified as miracles which increased man's faith in God. But as time progresses and Man finds scientific solutions to stuff his faith in God will reduce.

I would rather say Man created God ( irony eh!!!)
